GIMUR Concludes a One-Year Intervention at the Girona Conservatory’s Brass Studio

May 11, 2019

On May 11, 2019, GIMUR concluded a two-year intervention at the Brass Studio of the Conservatory of Girona, developed as part of a teacher training process focused on educational improvement through research.

The initiative supported a sustained process of pedagogical reflection and professional development within the studio. Rather than a one-off activity, the intervention was conceived as a long-term effort to strengthen teaching practices through educational inquiry, critical reflection, and the gradual implementation of research-informed strategies.

The project formed part of GIMUR’s broader commitment to connecting music education with educational research in meaningful and practical ways. By working closely with the Brass Studio over an extended period, the institute contributed to a process of improvement grounded in observation, dialogue, and the careful analysis of teaching and learning practices.

The conclusion of this intervention marked the closing of an important stage in a collaborative process aimed at fostering lasting pedagogical development. It also reaffirmed GIMUR’s interest in supporting teacher training initiatives that promote deeper, research-based approaches to educational change in specialized music contexts.
