A delegation of representatives from the Global Institute for Music Research (GIMUR) visited the Mariachi School in Mexico City, continuing its efforts to build connections with leading music institutions across diverse cultural contexts.
The visit focused on establishing dialogue with students and faculty around the role of traditional music within contemporary research. Mariachi, as one of Mexico’s most emblematic musical traditions, provided a valuable context to explore the intersection between performance, cultural identity, and academic research.
Throughout the session, the GIMUR delegation introduced the institute’s international network, emphasizing its role in connecting researchers, supporting collaborative initiatives, and facilitating access to research resources and publications.
