February 4th, 2020

The Global Institute for Music Research (GIMUR) organizes the Trumpet Research Conference (JIT2020) on February 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th, 2020, held at the conservatories of Seville and Málaga.

The event bring together invited professors from around the world, all collaborators within GIMUR’s international network. This global participation enabled the exchange of diverse perspectives on music research, reinforcing the conference as a key platform for academic and artistic dialogue.

JIT2020 was developed within GIMUR’s strategic mission to promote music research “made by and for musicians,” fostering connections between performers, researchers, and educators. The program included research presentations, lectures, and practical sessions focused on the trumpet as a field of performative research.

The dual location in Seville and Málaga expanded institutional engagement and strengthened collaboration between higher music education centers. The conference also contributed to the development of new research lines and collaborative projects within the network.

Through initiatives such as JIT2020, GIMUR continues to strengthen its role as an international platform connecting researchers, promoting high-quality scientific and artistic work, and organizing research-driven activities across the global music community .
