A New Collaboration Begins with Interlochen Arts Academy

GIMUR has begun a new collaboration with Interlochenter for the Arts, opening a new stage of international academic exchange with one of the most respected music training environments in the United States. The initiative is being developed through exchanges with faculty members and reflects GIMUR’s continued interest in building meaningful relationships with leading institutions in specialized music education.

The collaboration also builds on an earlier connection established in January 2018, when GIMUR’s director visited Interlochen. That visit now stands as an important precedent for the current partnership, giving greater continuity to the institutional relationship and reinforcing the value of this new stage of academic exchange with Interlochen Arts Academy, part of Interlochen Center for the Arts.

The first exchange in this new collaboration took place with Ken Larson, who serves as Instructor at Interlochen Arts Academy. His participation during the Barcelona Seminary marks the beginning of a dialogue centered on teaching, performance, and the shared concerns that shape advanced musical training in international settings. this new partnership, GIMUR expands its network of academic connections while reinforcing its commitment to international collaboration as a way of fostering reflection, exchange, and pedagogical development in the field of music. The opening of this relationship with Interlochen also creates new possibilities for future projects and sustained institutional dialogue.
