GIMUR Visits UNT to Explore Collaboration in High-Performance Music Research

January 24, 2023

The director of the Global Institute for Music Research (GIMUR), Dr. Jordi Albert, visited the University of North Texas (UNT) in the United States as part of an institutional initiative to strengthen international academic collaboration.

During the visit on January 24, Dr. Albert met with Professor Caleb Hudson to explore potential avenues for collaboration in the field of high-performance research in musical instruments. The discussions focused on the development of research initiatives connected to advanced performance, musician development, and the study of the physical and artistic demands involved in high-level instrumental practice.

The visit formed part of a broader effort to assess possible agreements between both institutions, including the long-term possibility of creating a joint research structure that could support specialized projects, international exchange, and collaborative research activity.

This initiative is aligned with GIMUR’s mission to connect researchers and institutions, promote new collaborative frameworks, and advance high-quality research in music at an international level .
